Samsung NC10 Touchscreen Kit
A Taiwanese Ebay seller is now offering a touchscreen kit for the Samsung NC10. At £65 GBP (around $100) it’s not hugely expensive and looks quite well built.

The kit is solderless and looks surprisingly straightforward. There are no ‘how to’ videos available yet, but the instructions are available in PDF format .

I just ordered an NC10 from Dabs. This touchscreen kit looks interesting, but I really want to know if it looks clunky when installed and if it works accurately. Is it worth the £65?

Ive found these on a UK website, has anyone fitted one?
If so was it easy to fit and was it the same as the one listed below?

Just ordered a couple of NC10′s from Amazon, had a look at the touch screen mod instructions – seems simple enough, but don’t think I’m willing to spend £65 +£20 P&P to remove the warrantee on a machine that I don’t even have yet LOL.
65 quid form a shop seems a good price, but 85 (incl postage) from ebay … well…..

I fitted one of these in my nc10 following the tutorial from
http://netbookmag.com/2009/02/03/tutorial-samsung-nc10-touchscreen-installation/
Was fairly straight forward (although i do study computing at uni) and it works suprisingly well.
Only two problems encountered; the first was due to putting the screen surround back on before i had calabrated the screen and had to take it off agian as it “toucehes” the edge and confuses matters.
The second was putting the screws back into the surround and splitting the plastic, VERY easily done, be careful.
Also i think its worth mentioning that it dosnt work as a touchscreen in the sence of a tablet that windows will recognize, it detects it as a mouse/pointing device. This isnt really a problem other than a few of the touchscreen aimed apps in windows 7 dont work.
Give it a go! Good fun
